Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
Vimala Prabha
I was born and grew up in Altrincham, Cheshire, at the age of 22, I became interested in Eastern spiritual traditions and meditation, leading me eventually to the Western Buddhist Order and many years spent practising and teaching meditation and related disciplines. I went on to study acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York, from which I graduated in 2007 with a Diploma in Acupuncture.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council and enjoy developing my professional and clinical skills, for example by attending workshops and other training events on aspects of acupuncture practice. I also write the occasional article on acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and enjoy the range of problems that traditional acupuncture can treat, from aches and pains and muscular skeletal problems on the one hand, to mental and emotional symptoms such as anxiety and depression on the other. I appreciate the holistic perspective of traditional acupuncture and the tools it gives me to help my patients lead healthier and happier lives.
As well as my interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I like walking, reading good fiction and the odd bit of history, meditation, and watching football.
